Good luck! Must believe some of the stereotypes yourself if you feel the need to state your sexuality.

    Welcome!

I love men in nursing!! With all these women, sometimes the men are the sanest, fairest, even-tempered ones around. Actually, I do have 1 gripe about the men I have worked with in nursing...they don't seem to put the same emphasis on the "caring/compassionate" part of nursing...the men I have worked with (no generalizations) are more "tasky-types"...but some of the best ICU nurses & anesthetists that I have ever worked with.

Hey 3rd shift guy,i am as straight as an arrow...(heterosexual)...i got into a nursing school, i lasted 2 weeks..lol..i really need to get this studying thing right again, any suggestions anyone?lol

My only suggestion is don't fall behind. It's a shock to the system (I went around that age as well, after goofing off for many years) to have to work that hard.

I already have a degree in political science and tried going into teaching with no luck. Its a tough time for teachers. I am really thinking about nursing school since I can transfer many credits. Depending on what program I go with it will take me anywhere from 15 months to 2 years. I can do an accelerated BSN but its intense. Keeping up with your studies requires making plenty of time which is difficult for me. I would spend hours in the campus library and shut the world out. Good luck.

My brother teaches economics and he is thinking about nursing as well, after seeing me make it through. You may find school much easier the second time around. I did.

    Hey Bro..... Welcome aboard.

Just hang in there....... What I like about Nursing is all the women I meet everyday....... No, I'm not a macho pig! LOL I'm playing around. It's a positive thought..... LOL Just make sure you study everyday. Don't fall behind on your readings and those annoying Care Plans...... They gave me tremendous Headaches!!!!!

Oh.... 1 question...... are you entering an ADN or a BSN program?

My advice is to find good study partners. The program will go much smoother if you have people who you can study with, and who can motivate you. Just be careful who you pick! hehe
