A few very juicy stores and ... hello

  1. I first noticed the posting about there being one in every class and was momentarily disctracted from my main goal. A few very juicy stores came to mind, but I will keep those to myself until we are better acquainted.

I am new and seriously wanting to know about Nursing Epistemology when it comes to Nursing Education. We seem to be able to teach each other how to be nurses, but how do we teach ourselves to become good Nurse Educators?

I want to know what other nurses are thinking and doing about learning how to become better educators in their field. Are there formal programs to which nurses go to become or to become better Nurse Educators?

I have come across a few programs, but most nursing programs focus on becoming a nurse and not how to create exceptional nurse educators. Although relatively new as an area, Medical Education seems to have out-stripped us. In medical education, continuing medical edcuation remains skill focused, but, Medical Education studies, that is how we learn to be good educators, is a relatively new area of endeavor. In other words, how do we optimize teaching methods in Nursing education to ehnace the learning experiences of Nurses.

I want to know what other nurses are thinking and doing about this important issue.
