Standard Intro

by saramarinara Premium Member

Hi all! I just wanted to say how much I love this site and I spend way too much time here. I registered last Feb but never got around to posting, it would be nice to make some friends here now.

A bit about me: I'm in nursing school right now going for my BSN, it is my second attempt at college having quit the first time to get married. That marriage didn't work out and after the divorce the one thing I wanted to do for myself was to get back to school and finish a degree. When I went to school the first time I was going for environmental conservation because I hadn't a clue right out of high school what I wanted to do with my life. Turned out that was way too boring for me. After some years of working in a doctor's office, and with the support of my mom who has worked in healthcare for awhile, I decided on nursing for a bunch of different reasons.

Not to sound too much like a fangirl but allnurses is just about the best site ever. I've learned so much about nursing just from reading the posts here. I am especially grateful to Janfrn and the other regular posters on the Canadian boards... my boyfriend lives in Calgary and we are hoping to get married sometime before I graduate. If things all work out I will be doing the IEN route to get an Alberta license. I love reading the updates about the healthcare climate of Alberta Health Services. It is also tough to stick to school when he is so far away (I am in the Northeast US) and we really just want to start our life together... coming to allnurses helps to keep my mind on my goals, as cheesy as that sounds.

Thanks to you all for being here and being wonderful and inspiring nurses!

Hello and welcome to allnurses.

Good luck as you move toward your goal of becoming a nurse.

Come here as often as you need to. Many of us have to get our daily dose of AN therapy. Warning.......it can be habit forming.
