New to allnurses

by betty67

Hi everyone! I am new here, My name is Betty and I just submitted my application to an associates degree nursing program here in a suburb of pittsburgh. I won't know if I got in until the end of October. So while I wait to hear if I made it, I am focusing on my A&P 2 class I love this class!! My teacher is the best and I am learning a lot. I am really so glad to be at this point it has taken me a while to get this far. I am not a traditional student at 42 I am old enough to be some of my classmates mothers...LOL I am a single mom of 3 wonderful children 2 are in elementary school and the baby is 16mo old. My life is full and busy it's great! I am so happy to be pursuing nursing! I will be a nurse even if it takes me a lot longer than I planned, I know that I will get there. I am glad that I found this site and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone..........

Hi Betty:

I just joined also!

We have some things in common. I am 39. I also have 3 children, two in elementary school and a toddler (20 months!). I just applied to a local community college for their associates - joint nursing diploma program with a nearby hospital. I have always wanted to become a nurse! This will be a career change for me.

Good luck to you - it's nice to find someone along a similar path!

Carole
