new nursing student, ex-medic

Hi,

I am a new nursing student in the ADN nursing program at Kaplan College here in sunny San Diego, California. I am excited about getting into the program and now I have to bear down and study my butt off!

I used to be a licensed paramedic here in California and Hawaii. I loved the medical side of working as a paramedic, assessing patients, starting iv's, intubating, and transporting them. However, the national average wage of a paramedic is kinda low. Kinda sad, actually.

Maybe I'll get into Emergency Nursing when I graduate. Would love to hear from some Emergency Nurses, ex-medic nurses, hospital nurses, and actually all nurses in general.
