Hello everyone. It is nice to be a part of such a large community of nurses. My name is Jennie, and I am a 22 year old LVN for a psychiatric hospital and a pediatric home health agency.

I was going for my RN and completed 3 levels (there are 4) and all I needed to complete my fourth was my ER days and practicum. My daughter became ill, and my grandfather passed away (and a lot of other things!!) so sadly, was unable to finish the program. (and to think I only had weeks to go after 4 years) Haha. My school made me an offer, though. Since I had completed the first three levels back in December 08, I would be allowed to sit for my LVN boards. I had to hurry though because the Texas Legislation was going to pass a bill that would no longer allow partial RN to LVN examinees.

Naturally, I said yes! At least I would have some type of license at the end of this whole ordeal. So, I sat for my boards and passed with 85 questions. (longest 2 days of my life, haha) I now work in a feild that I love. I am also back in school for my RN through Excelsior College. I signed up a few months ago, but have not had the time to take the first exam. I need to wait until things in my life settle down a bit. It is nice that I am an LVN because the pressures of having to become an RN right away is no longer so great. I have a good paying job, and it's something I love. And the best of all, I am a NURSE :]

What else about me.... hmmm. I have 2 kiddos, am a single mommy, have 3 cats, lots of fish, and 2 rats (animal lovers much? lol)

Ok, off to lurk around the boards, nice to meet yall!
