Introducing myself

HI! I am a medical coder starting nursing school at Middlesex Community College (Mass) in Sept. I have all my co-reqs done with the exception of Micro (last exam tonight ack!!) and cultural anthropology. I am going into the part time program...Friday night lectures..Sat clinical/labs while I work 32 hours a week. I have been lurking for a while..and finally signed myself up today. Thanks!!

Hi tbarn426, I am also going to the part time nursing program at mcc. My prereqs are done except for micro. How long did u have to wait to get excepted? The classes are just fri nite and clinical on sat? I won't be starting the program until next fall the wait list was so long. How did u do on the cpt test? I already passed the math for nurses test but had a hard time with the algebra portion of the cpt. I have to redo that over. I wish I was starting this sept instead. Congrats and good luck with the classes. Keep me posted with how things go if u want. Thanks

Well I work at hospital the school has a partnership with. They hold a few seats for the hospital's employees so it was a little different for me. They have an open skills lab on Thursday nights...lecture on Fri night..lab and clinicals rotate on Saturdays. I had to review for the CPT math portion a little because it had been a about 8 years since I took Algebra in college. I literally bought Algebra for Dummies just to review and polish what i learned before and it worked. I am very excited...good luck!!
