Introducing Myself

Hi! Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been reading the posts for quite a long time on this site, and decided to create an account a few days ago. I live in Southern California and am married, with no children except for a cat. I'm planning on starting CNA classes in either the Fall of this year, or the Winter of next year. I'm motivated and excited about pursuing this area and having hands-on experience with pts. It's something I'd thought about doing for quite a long time, but I was talked out of it by others who reasoned that I should continue working as an Adminstrative Assistant with a major company. Although the pay is great in my current position, and I do have benefits, I feel a deep void. One of which I am motivated to fill by helping others who are much less fortunate and need care, even if that means lower pay and fewer fringe benefits.

Going into a health profession had been my dream many years ago, but I was continuously advised against it. But now I'm ready to take that leap, even though I'm still told I would make a mistake leaving a higher paying job. I may even progress into Nursing as an LVN at a latter date, but for now I'd like to start from the beginning and become a CNA and work in that capacity for a while. Who knows, maybe I'll remain a CNA for a long time. I know it is hard work, and a lot of things to deal with, but my hope is that I will be able to excell and do my best, providing good care to pts and providing excellent assistance to the Nurses and other CNAs I work with!

Anyway, there's a little about me and my goals for the future. I'm glad to have found this website and have gleaned such valuable insights from the people in various forums. I'm looking forward to learning even more and accumulating knowledge and ideas as I explore this new journey in my life.

Peace and good health to you all!
