Hello Everyone!!!!

by RN23

I just want to say hello to everyone on AllNurses.com and Happy Father's Day!!!

Heres a little bio...

My name is Joel, I graduated from North Park University last December and I recently passed the nursing board exam. I'm excited to finally be a RN just like my dad and I am ready to start the next chapter of my life. I definitely want to work in critical care and it would be great if I can start out in ER/ICU. I have 2 years of experience working as a PCT in Evanston Hospital (resource team) and as a Pharmacy Tech for CVS. I'm weighing my options right now and I really want to move out of state but the last few days I've thought alot about the benefits of military nursing. If anyone has any thoughts/advice/suggestions I truly appreciate it

Welcome to nursing, Joel! If you start in the ICU, do the AACN's ECCO program, and start getting your ACLS, PALS, TNCC, etc. Learning never stops.

Thank you for the advice. I will definitely keep that in mind. That is one of the reasons why I like the ICU, the learning never stops
