Getting enough Money in Antarctica to train as a Mc Millian Nurse

by Craigy

Hi I have a year to go here at Halley Research Base in Antarctica, so am now really planning my next move to becoming a Mc Millian Nurse.

Yes I realise its not quite the convential way to save money to train as a Nurse...but it beats Mc Donalds.

So I will arive back next April and would like some advice on how to reach my goal please.

I have worked in a Trauma ward before I left for the Antarctic as a Auxillary and have also worked whilst being a VSO teacher in a Kiribati hospital; so I have some idear what I am getting into and not just romanticising it.

So any advice would be great at this point.

Thanks Craig in Antarctica

Hi Craig. I have to say you're the first poster I've seen from Antartica.

What's a Mc Millian Nurse, if you don't mind me asking.

Boy, I bet you have some interesting stories about Antartica. How long have you been there? What are the temps like?

Welcome to allnurses!

MacMillan nurses are a British thing. GREAT nurses. My mother in law is one.
