Does becoming Certified in your specialty enhance your career?

I am awaiting a date to take the Certification exam for Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing.

Any helpful hints on this exam from those who have already had the pleasure?

Yes, I was an ER RN for 10 years and did the CEN in year 2.
