Did you test IN the Philippines? You might, indeed, need to wait for an actual mailing then. It would take a few weeks, I'd imagine. Quick results from a Pearson testing site (in which the site is located in a State that participates in the Quick Results program) would allow you to look online at pearsonvue.com and find it. Individual State boards have websites to check as well, whether or not they participate in QR. Some post in a day, others weeks.

I think Suzanne might know this better, though, since it's an international thing.

There is no NCLEX testing center in the Philippines.

If the poster took the exam for California, then they are going to need to wait about one month for results to come via the mail. CA will not issue a license until the nurse produces a SSN#. Therefore all they get is a letter stating that they passed the exam, and have three years to give a SSN# to the BRN. They do not have a license in the US until a number is assigned.

Suzanne - do you know about the state of NH? I took my boards today, but was just informed that they do not use Quick Results. I know that there is an online verification that I used to check for my temporary license - do you think they will post it there or what!? I'm freaking out - I cant wait 3 weeks for the mail!

Not sure about NH, but the fastest is always just to check their website to seen your name as having an RN license. Especially when they do not permoit quick results.

Since this is the International Forum, do you have a SSN#? Many states will not issue a permanent license without the SSN#.

just read about this thread and just wanna ask some questions, I just had my nclex last sept 1st '06 here in California and up to this moment results still not available. I'm not an immigrant here nor a citizen so my visa is just a tourist. How can i avail a SS# just in case i passed my nclex? Cause i read susan's reply that they'll not gonna issue a license number to those who doesn't have a SS#. And what they'll just give to the examiner is just a certificate declaring that you've passed the nclex.

Please do enlighten me cause i dunno anything about the rules here in CALIFORNIA...

Thanks...

You can not get a SSN without a legal permit to work in the USA.

You are not going to be a licensed nurse in CA when you get notification that you passed the NCLEX exam, you will only get a letter stating that you passed the exam, and have three years to give them a SSN#. You only can get a SSN# when you have gone thru the immigration process and are ready to begin work.

You must have a document that states that you can legally work in the US, before you can even go and apply for the SSN#. No other way around that.

Do not expect to get a letter for at elast another week or more, they will not even be mailed until then, and you will never see your name on the CA BRN website until you give them a SSN#.

all i have to do right now is to wait for my letter stating that i've passed or failed the exam... so if it stated "pass", maybe i'll be looking for a nice agency to help me for me to work here... am i thinking it right?

thanks for the ideas you shared to me... it's really appreciated!:wink2:

yes you just have to wait for the letter... don't necessary need a agency to go through the process just find a hospital willing to petition you

Good luck

Which country are you from and what type of visa are you currently on? There is going to be a retrogresion in the next few weeks that is going to affect all initially. Meaning that you will not be able to get a petition submitted on your behalf. Please keep this in mind.

thank you so much for everything! especially to silverdragon102 and suzanne... i'll just be waiting for my letter and keep my fingers crossed that i'll pass the NCLEX...

i might be enrolling myself to an IELTS review next week so that I won't be anxious and having the feeling of panic while waiting for my result... and i don't want to waste my time cause i just got 6 months to stay here in California and i don't want to overstay cause i know i'll be having a hard time if I do that...

Till next time... :thankya:
