what's the exact meaning

  1. "$26 - $35 plus night and weekend differential" what's the exact meaning of it? Is that mean the differential is already added in $26-$35 or not yet added? Is that recognised just the same throughout the US? Or should need additional explanation by the employer? Thanks

    I would take that as:
26-35/hr base pay (depending on experience I'm sure)
and an additional differential pay per hour added to the base pay for hours worked on nights and weekends....that's the way it works here in the US

Oreo: The quoted price is for base pay. Afternoon differential is usually 7-8%, for nights it is usually around 13-15%. Some hospitals also pay more for working weekends, etc........................unless they offer you a night position only and quote you a rate for that, but initially they will give you the base rate before the extras are added in.

    Hope that this helps.
