Good day! I think I exhausted all other search keywords before posting so I hope that my query is not too repetitive...
Retrogression is a big bummer but I've decided that I should at least get somethings done while I'm still young and my nursing knowledge is still fresh - so to speak.
I'm a fresh grad from the Philippines and am waiting for the June 2008 NLE results to come out...so while passing the time I've been sort of mapping out what to do for the next...5 to 10 years LOL.
I've chosen to apply to Oregon and have been sent the appl. packet. I've reviewed their requirements [including SSN

- and don't worry I won't be asking about that here O_O].
I was wondering if it would be wise to:
1.) Get the CP [CGNFS certificate] after taking the CGFNS qualifying exam and the IELTS.
2.) [Dream Sequence Begins] The employer from California petitions me using the CGFNS certificate THROUGH Consular Processing -- and I join the long ardous wait
3.) Apply for VisaScreen Certificate using my CP and IELTS scores - since its 5 years valid and renewable - and def. needed in the long run anyway - been warned about that.
4.) Apply to Oregon using the VisaScreen Certificate [since its one of their requirements as opposed to using a CES report] - I don't mind waiting bec. the longer the processing takes - the longer the license can remain valid while I wait
5.) Take the NCLEX in Manila and work for the next 5-10 years as a Philippine nurse, take my masterals in our universities and become a clinical instructor while renewing my VisaScreen and perhaps the Oregon license [subject to board approval] while I wait. And pray to the heavens that the dream employer give me a valid job offering letter when the 5-10 year wait is over. Then I endorse the Oregon license to California.
The timeline for this path seems awfully long and fantastical, I think but I'd rather do things the sure and legal way
Thank you very much
