Hello! From what I've seen, the usual shifts for RNs in BC are 4 on, 4 off, with 2 days and 2 nights each week. Is this the norm? What hours do you work? What days do you have off?
Thanks in advance

most places are 12s. 2 days, 2 nights, 5 off. but in one part of our hospital (the rehab ward) they are 8s. i do the 12s.
burnaby was the same way, they had 12s on one medical ward and 8s on the other.

I also work two days, two nights (12 hour shifts), and have five off. Our hospital also does two weeks of days, and two weeks of nights (working 2 on, 3 off, 3 on, 2 off ... )

Ditto HollieRN in the hospital I work in...
Full time on my unit is two days two nights five off - 12 hour shifts. I can't imagine doing 9-5 anymore!
