The NCLEX exam is a requirement for licensure as an RN or LPN. So I guess the benefit is that if you pass you will be legally able to work as a nurse in the US.
I cannot advise you on the requirements as a foriegn trained nurse But I am sure if you check some of the international forums you will find info on the process. As Siri states I am sure Suzanne4 will be along to give you accurate info.

NCLEX is out national licensing exam, for any nurse that wishes to work in the US, even Americans have to take the exam as well. The benefit of taking it is being able to work in the US as an RN.

The NCLEX exam is also the last step in the licensing process, you need to apply to a state for licensure, then they give approval for you to sit for the exam.

If you read some of the stickies at the top of this forum, they will give you some insight on what you will need to do.
