Hiya Folks

I am a US born and trained Registered Nurse and have been working and living here in Scotland since July 1999.

I qualified in 1991 and was a teacher before that..

I started off my nursing career in a mixed Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit in the US and worked there until I came over here in July 1999.

I started working here at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in the Cardiac ward and worked there until Oct 2002.

I moved down here to Dunfermline in Oct 2002 and accepted a Clinical Research Nurse position in a private clinic just outside Edinburgh.. In Feb of this year I started working full time as a agency RN. I love it.. Love the flexibility.

So thats a run down about me..

Specializes in learning disabilities/midwifery.

Hi all

Well Im a learning disability nurse, qualified in 1994. Right now Im working as a Person Centred Planning Coordinator, working in the midst of the closure of out trusts long term residential units so it really interesting if a bit scary at times:eek:

I'm presently in the process of applying to study midwifery which is a huge leap but a long term dream, so hopefully I'll be doing that come Sept 2004.

Im happily 'living in sin' with my long term boyfriend and our slightly psychotic cat.

In my spare time Im learning to drive, yes I know its sad that Im 30 and cant drive but I'm finally getting round to it! I make/sell aromatherapy bath 'stuff' and generally socialise whenever possible.

Specializes in med/surge.

Hi!

Well, compared you all, I'm a real new-bie. 38 and just finished DAY 2 of my RN programme in Surrey. So far so boring, as has been all admin and bureaucracy, but anatomy lectures start on Monday... I worked as an HCA in an elderly ward and loved it.

I'm an American who has lived over here since 1988, married to a brit, 2 kids 7 & 9. Keep thinking I'd like to go into A & E or ITU, but really, of course am just blathering and don't know what I'll do...

I have learned so much from this bb!

cheers!

Hi, I'm from Leeds, went to London to train in psychiatry at Maudsley Hosp, moved back to Leeds to do SRN. Then I got the urge to travel. Went to Iraq and worked for Sadaam, then onto Thailand and later Saudi Arabia. I'm now nicely settled, two kids, in Dallas Texas. I work as DON for a home health agency.
