I worked as a nurse in the philippines for 3 years up to present,i was assigned in Operating Room Unit.I know that my experience is enough for me to be able to work in a foreign country like canada...i attended a seminar conducted by canadian immigration consultancy because I wanted to apply for an immigrant visa for me to be able to go to canada immediately and of course because of the benefits that I can get rather that applying for a working visa according to the immigration consultancy.They also told us that the help that we can get for the immigration process to accomplish in a short span of time is to find or can I say to have our employer in the canada, it means direct employer from canada if we have relatives or friends there....I just wanted to know is it difficult for us filipino nurses to find an employer in canada? just wanted to gets some advise because it is an advantage if i can find an employer in canada to wave the show money that the embassy want..:yeah:hope that someone could help me..:(any opinions or advise will be greatly appreciated..thank you!:bow:

It depends on your experience and where you want to go. OR I think is good. But you need to be eligible to take CRNE before any employer will be interested, an employment offer will speed things up regarding immigration. So if you really want to go to Canada, decide where you want to go and apply to the nursing college/association for evaluation of your credentials.

I think if you have the experience and the OK from the province college then you shouldn't have problems finding a employer.

I think you should take it step by step, and the first step is look for a province that would suit your lifestyle. Based from your comment. I think you are taking the provincial Nominee Program. However, It is a pre-requisite to have an employer inorder for the process to start. Eligibility for a CRNE exam or nursing registration will boost your credential in finding an employer.

What province are you planning to register? Please remember that some of them requires an SEC assessment prior to eligibility to sit for the exam. You could find lot of information regarding SEC on this website.:)

Not every IEN is required to undergo SEC. Not every IEN from the same country will be required to undergo SEC. It's very individualized and has more to do with how your nursing education was obtained, where it was obtained, what kind of content was included and NOT included and to a certain extent, what experience you've obtained since completing your education. SEC is a tool for evaluating your knowledge and skill in each of the five major subspecialties when the documentation of your education isn't adequate to reflect it.
