Hi guys!

Nice to see I'm not the only Nursing hopeful for fall 2011!

I applied to the Western University-Fanshawe Collaborative program in London Ontario.

I'm not sure if there are any other Pre-Health Science "hopefuls" out there in this forum, but if so, I'd like to hear from you and how the application is going (if there have been any admission offers yet - to any Ontario University)

I'm super anxious because I don't know if they only give a number of seats to people who have completed the Pre-Health College program... if someone knows, I would love t find out!

My GPA for the program is 3.91 - I'm not sure if that is good enough for the cut-offs at western University.

I'd love to hear if anyone gets in at all at Western... and if the nursing program gives out early admission as soon as Jan-Feb???

And if you are reading this and are, or have been a former Pre-Health (Pre-Nursing) student, please let me know how things are going!!! :)

hey!

We definitely had pre-health together last year! I just "facebooked" your name and realized who you were. We were in the same math group for second term. My names Rachel, the short blonde. I just got my acceptance letters in the mail on Thursday for the fanshawe/UWO program :) so excited!

Hope to hear you get in too! It would be great to see a familiar face in September.

Hey Rachel!

I don't remember half the people from Pre-Health by name, but I'd probably remember you if I saw your face, haha!

I'm so glad to hear you got in to the Fanshawe-Western program!!!!!! I know that acceptance offers are given on a rolling basis or as soon as the files are complete (all documents rec'd, etc.), but I never thought they would send out some offers so early!!!! :yeah:

I'm really nervous to hear back form them because I know this school has a reputation of having a very high cut-off average, like 87 I think it was last year... My GPA average from Pre-Health was 3.91, so I'm hoping that brings me high enough over the cut-off.

If you don't mind me asking (since you did get accepted), what was your final Pre-Health GPA?

Also, did you get in at the Fanshawe site or at Western?

Hope to hear from you soon and hope to see you in September!!! :)

Cheers!

Good luck!

Hey again,

my overall GPA was 4.05 and I got into the Fanshawe site. At least this time starting school should be easier, because I will already know my way around! It is so exciting thinking about it, but its still 6 months away!Have all of your documents been recieved? It was about a week after all of my documents were recieved that I finally got the offer. Anyway, let us know when you hear from them!

Wow! You are one smart woman! 4.05 is excellent!! You must have aced all of the courses (including Chem midterm.. which KILLED my note, as is did for many other students). I had a bit of trouble with my high school transcripts (from New Brunswick) and them finally receiving it and I had to forward them another copy, so my file was only "complete" as of February 28, about 1 week ago.

I hope to finally hear from them.. possibly this week, you never know. I'm just so anxious that my GPA won't be high enough, but I have to stay positive and hope! :)

I've heard that most Pre-Health applicants end up going to Fanshawe anyways because they've studied there before, so it seems like an easy deal. 6 months away already?! Hahaha! Everything's going by so fast! Well, hope to see you next fall! :coollook:

See ya!

Woohoo! Got accepted to both campus sites (Western & Fanshawe) for nursing! I'm super excited :lol2:

I'm still thinking about where I'm going to choose as my site, but I'm glad we both got in.

Thanks for all of your help and advice Rachel; you're awesome! :)

I took pre health and am doing the Fansh/Western collaborative. I hope you choose Fanshawe...it's a small campus and easy to get to know each other and form therapeutic relationships (hehehe). Pre health will definitely give you an advantage over those who didn't take it. First year physio will be a repeat of anatomy and biology. Teachers at Fanshawe are awesome, they genuinely care about your success. Good luck!

Hello!

I'm new to this site, and not too sure if this would be right thread to place my post. I just got accepted to Fanshawe's Pre-Health Program for January 2012. I'm hoping to pursue a nursing degree the year after with Fanshawe/UWO. But I'm wondering as to whether they would just use my Pre-Health marks or my marks from my undergrad degree that I just recently completed from U of T. My GPA is quite low and not sufficient enough to gain direct entry into any nursing programs hence why I chose the Pre-Health Science route. Would I have better chance getting entry if I do well in the Pre-Health Science program?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
