ruthiebaby.... could you tell me how you worked in Australia. Did you set everything up by yourself? Did you go through an agency? Did you find you were able to travel to other places from there?

Does anyone know anything about working in the Netherlands? I am an FNP, but would be willing to work as an RN. I am looking for websites or travel companies that could help me get started. My s.o. has an RN job lined up with the OPCW and I would love to follow him but don't want to jump the lake and find no jobs for foreigners!

Does anyone have advice on working in Japan? I'm trying to think of ways to find something in the field.. International school nurses, teaching medical english, etc. I taught English in public school for a year there, and I'd really like to make it back. I know I'd have to learn some more japanese before I could do something really career oriented.

Anyone have an information on working at Landstuhl Army Medical Center Germany? I had heard a rumor that you need your BSN to work as an RN there. Is this true? My husband and I will be PCS'ing to Ramstein Air Base next year. I don't necessarily want to work when I go over there. I want to be a SAHM for a little while. However, I want to keep my optons open.

Also, is there any other facility I could work at as an RN with an ADN in the local area? Thanks in advance.

There is another post about Germany, which states that you need to be registered in Germany by sitting the local exam - in German - and having fluent German language, so the base may be your best chance.

Don't know what PCSing is sorry!

Sorry, the military is so fond of acronyms. It stands for permanent change of station. My husband is active duty Air Force and when he returns from his remote tour to Korea will be going to Germany!

I only know a few words in German so I guess if I wish to work while there it will be at the military hospital.

Ah, thanks for the info! Between military and nursing acronyms, it's a wonder you can speak in full sentences at all!

Hi...I am German/American and hoping to start nursing school next year. (I graduated with my BA in 2005, and knew before I finished that it wasn't what I wanted to do...so I'm hopefully starting work on my Pre-reqs to 2nd degree program in the fall) Anyway, I am planning on moving back to Germany (maybe austria/england/ireland) and would love to know what I need to prepare for in order to work there as a nurse. I am also interested in becoming and NP someday and would like to know how that would translate over there...do you happen to know where that other post was located or where I'd be able to find the info I need??

Thanks!!!

Don't know sorry, it was some time ago. You could try posting a question in the "Questions for Suzanne4" thread, as she was the one who answered the question last time I believe.

Working in the UK will be a bit easier for you if you have EU status but your nurse training will be classed as the US and must meet NMC guidelines, check them out at www.nmc-org.uk
