What legal issues are you referring to? If you cannot work legally in the US you will not likely be able to work in Canada either.

There are a lot of threads on this and would recommend checking out the Canadian nursing forum. Look for the stickies...but things are tough in Canada now too from what I have read. There are no jobs in Alberta at all due to a hiring freeze in place and cut backs happening in BC also that even Canadian grads are having difficulty. And with a lot of IEN's going to Canada it is a slow process to get your education assessed. You may need to do some research before make a decision. It is a long process to take the CRNE (Canadian equivalent to NCLEX) and then would imagine you have to secure immigration standing for Canada. Did you do the OPT in the US and now have to leave due to inability to stay in the US? Good luck!!!

You are looking at approx 6-12 month processing time for you to go from the US to Canada. You need to have a read in this and the Canadian forum as there are a few threads that you need to read., You also need to decide which province you want to live and work in and apply to their college of registered nurses (the Canadian equivalent to BON) you will also need to find a employer, get LMO and have a medical.
