Uk Rn Looking To Work In Canada

I am new to this site. I would like advice from any UK nurses who have moved to Canada to work, or any Canadian nurses. I went to a recruitment fair in Glasgow, and as I have friends in Canada, I have decided to move and get a job there. I am a registered nurse here in the UK and have three years post grad experience in elderly palliative care. I was thinking of Alberta Canada, however, am open to other suggestions and advice. I am intending to register with CARNA in the New Year.
What I want to know from real nurses in Canada is, what is it like working in Canada? What is the patient nurse ratio? What are the main good points and bad points of nursing in Canada? What opportunities are there for working within the elderly or palliative care areas?
