You can check other forums that you can find answers and advises about online courses. I didn't want to take online courses because I wanted to have somebody who can answer my questions right away, you know we don't have experience in our countries about online education so I didn't want to risk myself. And also the exam it is not cheap. So I just wanted to pass. I did some search and at the end I reached the conclusion that the best way for me is to go to course. Which state are you going to apply?

CP is only required by a few states so if you do not need to do it don't do it.

You can have as many state licenses as you need and maintain (pay fees) or when on expires as long as you maintain one then you can let one expire. Have you checked that your transcripts have been sent as this may case an issue and will probably have a similar issue when you apply to another state as each has their own requirements especially if foreign trained

    Hi Ablez,

It is nice to have someone from Turkey as an nurse in USA. I just graduated from Koc University in Istanbul and came to NY 3 months ago. I am also taking ESL classes right now. I would like to get prepared for the RN examination. May I ask you some advice? What are your reccomendations for me? I am looking forward to hearing from you. Let's keep in touch. Thank you.

    Hi Istanbul,
I am Turkish nurse from Izmir and living in Alaska. I know 4-5 Turkish nurses working as a RN in USA. I haven't pass my NCLEX yet. My nursing board is CA too because of same reason. I took 3 times NCLEX and I failed but never gave up. I ll pass this time
    See you

    Hi Istranbul

Also I'm from Turkey from Istanbul but I live in New York. I've been living here in the States almost for 3 years. I passed my nclex-rn on December 11 2009 it wasn't easy. Now I'm waiting to receive my License as RN from New York Board. It took me like one and a half year to be able to take the test.
I took my nursing degree from Romania but I worked in Capa Medical Faculty in Istanbul. After I came here I had to study to learn English then I had started to study for nursing.
First of all you need to decide in which state do you wish to work and then you need to contact CGFNS and to see the requirements for which state you are going to apply. I will be very glad to give you more information if you need. When I first came to this country nobody could helped me about my situation because nobody heard about Turkish Nurses and nursing in Turkey. I should say if Silverdragon and Suzzan wouldn't help me I wouldn't been gotten my RN License in this country This forum helped me a lot and I would like to help you too.
