Theoretical & clinical hours for BON's

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can advise the average theoretical and clinical hours required in mental health, obstetrics and paediatrics in pre-registration nursing education that BON's require in the USA? I am an IEN.

Thanks for your reply. I have attempted to contact Washington State BON and they tell me to go through the CFGNS process. I have also reviewed their website to determine if there is any information, although it is only generic in nature and does not provide hours. However, I would like to know if I can achieve the BON's criteria prior to applying to CFGNS, so I am not wasting my money.

as a rough guide I met 2 state requirements with just over 75 hours in both clinical and theory in Adult, Mental health, Obstetrics and Paeds

I am still going through the transcript evaluation process with IERF. Hopefully, that will be completed by the end of January. Then it goes to WA BON for their evaluation and hopefully by the end of February I will have an answer. I'll let you know when I do!

I am in WA now but still contemplating which state to take because of the CG exam that they require for foreign grads.Thank you!

I have provided a link that states that you don't need to complete the CG exam to gain registration in WA.

I am a UK-trained RN, so don't need to complete IELTS or TOEFL and IERF don't require these as part of their evaluation process.
