I am a international trained nurse .I am eligible for temporary (supervised) nursing in BC (Vancouver). Preparing for June 2009 CRNE .Need 250 hours of experience which is a requirement before getting registered and also which will help me in writing the CRNE.Please advise on how to search for employer who hire nurses with interim permit and give opportunity to get started with the nursing career. Thank you

Specializes in intensive care, recovery, anesthetics.

Why don't you contact the hospitals you're interested in, submit your cv/resume and see what they say???? Since you're are allready in Canada that shouldn't be too difficult? You can even drop in if you want.

Best thing to do is contact the hospitals you are interested in working. Most will have some experience n what you have to do as a IEN

Hey there

check out www.nursevancouver.com, the website that helped me receive an employment offer.

This website enables you to apply and choose your top three health authorities with which you prefer to be referred to (e.g. Fraser, Vancouver Coastal, Providence etc.)

I received a phone interview within 2-3 weeks.

I am an IEN (still in my home country waiting to depart soon) sitting the CRNE in Vancouver in February 2009.

I was fortunate enough to receive a job offer from a Vancouver health authority as a temporary supervised RN whilst I wait to sit the CRNE and await the results, thereafter.:heartbeat

in response to cruzanita's above post....

Hi there

I am not in Vancouver right now. I am still in Australia, waiting to leave very soon to head to Canada for the 4 Feb CRNE. I start employment March as a temporary supervised RN, and should I be successful with the CRNE, my employment will continue. If not ... sadly no temp registration, no nursing job and re-sit the CRNE.

I made an application with nursevancouver.com once I knew I was eligible for the CRNE and booked an exam date. Another Aussie I am communicating with also found employment through the same process as myself. Neither of us are fully licensed in Canada, ofcourse, as we are both yet to pass CRNE.
