Re: Sydney or Melbourne
I don't know you, so it is a little impossible to guess what you'd like. What areas of nursing?
Sydney: beautiful, faster-paced, expensive $$, decent public transport, based on the harbour.
Melbourne: somewhat uglier but some nice beaches, based on a river, much more liveable in my opinion (but I'm biased, I grew up there!), good food/pucs/music/nightlife.
I have lived recently in both places, and prefer Sydney to visit for weekends etc, and Melbourne to live. You just get more for your money! Great hospitals in either place, which one would depend if you plan to work public/private, what specialty you like etc. There have been other threads if you try a search here and the Aus forums. PM me if you want more specific info, I've worked in hospitals in both cities (ICU).
