studying nursing over seas??

I have a few questions... firstly, does anyone had any insights about studying nursing over seas. I am wondering if going to school in another country could speed up the process (avoid these crazy waitlists)? If I were to go to school abroad is it then hard to become an RN in the US? Thanks for any advise you might have.

You could check the region boards. It depends alot on which country your are looking at. I don't want to give opinions, since I have no personal experience, but there's a direction to steer you towards.

What you need to be aware of is you will be classed as an international student and the fees are generally a lot higher than resident. Also you will always have to meet BON/BRN requirements for foreign trained nurse which may mean other requirements before they will allow you to sit NCLEX when in the US. Each country does things differently so depends on where you want to go.

Do you actually hold a green card or US citizenship? That would be my first question for you. Without that, attending school in another country will not make it easier for you to work in the US. It also makes you a foreign grad and then additional requirements for your entire career.

And not all programs that are completed overseas are accepted in the US for licensure.

Can you be more specific as to what you are actually considering?
