Student Visa to Independent Skilled (resident) visa

by Aelith

Hello,

I just want to ask about the transfer of student visa to an Independent Skilled (resident) visa for Australia. I will be taking a 2-year Master's degree in Australia and I think I will be qualified to apply for an Independent Skilled (resident) visa after I graduate or if I don't meet the desired points (120), I can apply for a Graduate visa. My problem is, the student visa will only allow me to stay in Australia until March 15 of the following year after I finish my studies which gives me an approximately 2-3 months time frame. I am not sure how long the visa process will take. Do you think I can get another visa before my student visa expires? I really don't want to study and then not be able to stay after.

Thank you in advance for those who will reply.
