rpn/lpn/lvn work in the UK?

NMC (UK nursing governing body) will not accept anything other than RN according to their website. Enrolled nurses (LPN) haven't been trained in the UK for about 10 years now. Also unless you have a EU/UK passport it will be very hard to get a work permit

Hi there, Silverdragon has given you the links to the Nursing and Midwifery council which is our registration body and can give you guidence to what is required to register as a nurse in the UK. However unless you have a UK or EU passport no UK employer will be able to shortlist you for an interview let alone offer you a job as the immigration laws dictate that jobs are offered to UK then EU citizens.

Nursing is no longer on the shortage occupations register so you would be unable to get a permit to work and no hospital will sponser you as they would not be allowed to offer you work.

There is a jobs shortage in the UK and our own nursing students struggle to find work which is why overseas nurses aren't able to work.

Also, your training would be the same as the EN, or the Enrolled Nurse, and they no longer have them in the UK.

Experience as an RN in an area where they have a shortage is the only thing that will be able to get you a visa to work there.
