RN to a Highschool teacher, HOW?

Good day everyone. I have already submitted a good number of resumes to different hospitals and now, I am still jobless. I am losing hope in being able to practice nursing here in the Philippines as of this moment (law of supply and demand, plus I am overweight, married and not young anymore: 31 years old second courser). I am thinking of applying as a highschool teacher, how is that possible, any idea?

Or should I pursue my masteral so I could be a nursing professor?

I need to know your insights. Thank you. :o

Are you a second courser? If you are a second courser what is your first course?

You need to take education units before you are qualified to teach highschool. Better ask the institution where you're planning to apply.

Yeah, as mentioned, u should take education units. If I am not mistaken, there is a course in UP open university that lets you take enough education/teaching units for you to qualify to take the LET exam and teach. I think it is called "The Professional Teaching Certification Program (PTC)"

This republic act may also help:

*Republic Act 7863

The Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994 requires all persons engaged in teaching, supervision, and administration of all elementary and secondary schools in the country to pass the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).

Qualified to take the examinations are graduates of education degrees, such as Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education, and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, and their respective equivalents.

Non-education graduates are allowed to take the LET with these conditions:

1) For teachers in the secondary grades, a bachelor's degree in arts and sciences, with at least eighteen (18) units of professional education;

2) For teachers of vocational and two-year technical courses, a bachelor's degree in the field of specialization or its equivalent with at least eighteen (18) units in professional education.

Goodluck :)

I have similar question. I am a experienced nurse that is looking for a full time job. I am pursing my masters in nursing education and have taken 18 credits in the education track already. There is a position with the school district for a College Readiness Coordinator. It seems like I would put programs in place to help at risk kids (administrative) but not work with them one on one. I want to apply but I wonder what I can say in my cover letter to get me an interview. They asked for a bachelors degree, they didn't specify in what. I have a BSN.
