Retrogression for Indian born nurses

Try searching the International forum, there are several posts about retrogression.

Basically yes, you will probably be delayed for at least a decent amount of time, but noone will know much more until the next release of visas in January (as far as I understand it).

As mentioned you are affected and will have to wait as visas are dependant on place of birth. Check out the international section quiet a few threads on this

remember though that as far as im aware, there isnt a lawyer who posts on here who really knows whats going on with retrogression, i have to say it, (although it pains me ) that the lawyer from OGP does know alot about retrogression, and as a company they are active in petitioning to have new visas released. Retrogression stops them from earning money in the USA, as they are unable to send nurses there, so they have a big interest in having the visas sorted out, you may find that the information you receive from them about it, is less likely to be rumors.

You are affected by the retrogression, and currently all nurses in the world are affected. Do not expect anything to open up before next summer if you were born in one of the PIC Countries as well as Mexico........it is based 100% on where you were born, and not where you are now a citizen of or are living.

But sorry, that agency is giving you very incorrect information concerning what can be done right now for you and what can't. You are able to go thru the entire procedure up until the interview at the US Embassy, that will have to wait for the currect visa numbers to be there for you........You can submit and get approval for the I-140, as well as the DS-230..........and then just need the medical and the interview.

You may wish to consider using another company if you are already getting incorrect information from them. You could go thru the entire process and just be waiting for an interview date, and that is what is recommended.

i imagine she has been sent the standard letter which does not account for individual circumstances, although that letter does imply that the visa will continue to be processed as far as it is able to under the current situation.

And if they are processing, then everything will be done and completed until the actual US Embassy interview and medical.

Do not worry much about retrogression as fas as you are concerned. Find out and employer, through your agency, or any other agenices who are ready to direct you. Arrange filing of IP 140. and complete the application process. By the time, you are paper moves, there will be visas availbale for you, if your application is OK. Hopefully by mid summer 2007.

Then why you worry dear!!! Forget about all those talk about retrogrssion.
