Hi. Moved your thread to the Int'l forum where it is more appropriate.

There are many threads about the looming retrogression in here. Enjoy your reading.

Bulletin is released on the 10th of each month prior, so look for November Bulletin to be out around the 10 th of this month.

It will not give a specific date as to when the retrogression will start, but will give some idea, unless the visas are already gone by then.

They will just publish something that visas are no longer current.

You will be waiting, nothing can be done until there are current visas for those that were born in the Philippines and the other countries that will be included.

You still need to focus on taking and passing the NCLEX exam, passing the series of English exams, and get a Visa Screen Certificate.

And yes, you will need to wait until it is over for any petitions to be submitted by an employer.

Retrogression for EB3 visas has occured before 2000 and then EB3 became current until January 2005 where visas for EB3 were exhausted. By May 2005, Bush signed a law that recaptured 50,000 visas for Schedule A which is a category under EB3. Retrogression is looming again because alot of that 50,000 visas were used already. We just hope that the US congress will pass measure on this. From my own standpoint, nothing can be done for now because it is election time here in the US and we will just have to wait for the next congress to act on it.

As for now, nobody is lobbying at the congress for additional visas and if there is no lobbying congress won't think its an issue. Remember that in 2005, there was lobbying made by the American Hospital Association that is why the retrogression lasted only for 5 months.

The bigger issue now is that the entire House of Representatives is up for re-election and a fairly good size of the Congress, they are two separate bodies here. And with the scandal that is rocking the House right now, more visas for nurses is the furthest thing from anyone's mind, they are trying to keep their positions.

Exactly. Although immigration is also a big issue between the republicans and democrats, conservatives and liberals but this issue is farthest from their mind now.

In my opinion, the House and the Senate can address this visa problem by middle of next year at most after some lobbying efforts from hospitals.

And that is just addressing the issue, it will be months after that before the visas are released. It is not immediate.
