Requirements to become a nurse in Germany

  1. 0
Hi everyone! I am a Filipino nurse who's interested to work in Germany. However, I have no idea about the requirements that I need in order to become a registered nurse in that country. Aside from learning the language, what else do I need? Do I still have to enroll in a refresher course of some sort when I get there? I have so many questions right now in my head because I can't seem to find information regarding this matter. I don't really want to leave the country and arrive in a strange land without knowing what to expect there.

Your replies will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Number one: Do you have or could get, legal right to work or live in Germany. I have heard it is just the same in each EU country...you must have EU rights. They are considered first and foremost before any other foreigner.

EU rights? Is that the same as having a work or resident visa? I'm quite confused about this.

Generally, all jobs in the EU are first posted to its own particular country, then second pick are for anyone in the EU, leaving very few positions open for people outside of the EU.

As well as issues obtaining a work permit (if required) Germany requires transcripts translating into German and application is I believe done locally depending on where in Germany. There have been a few threads discussing Germany probably worth doing a search

Oh. That's good for them, I guess, prioritizing their own people before others. Not too good for me, on the other hand. Thanks for the info though!

I was actually advised by a relative from Germany to do the same thing, having my transcripts translated into German, before I file an application for a work permit. I've read some of the previous threads although most of them are a bit outdated already. Anyway, thank you!
