Recent work experience?

by iza

Good day to everyone! I'm 25y/o and from philippines. I'm currently in Saudi and i'll finish my 3-year contract soon this September. i'm planning to apply for this 175 SKILLED INDEPENDENT MIGRANT to Australia, can anyone enlighten me bout this link? http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...nce-study.htm/ My contract will finish in less than 8mos from now. And i think i am able to apply by June, 2-3mos before i finish my contract. Does it mean that i'm not considered eligible for this 175 visa as per Recent Work experience is one of their main requirement? -iza

If you are currently working in the role of the RN and are getting paid for it, then it counts as recent work experience.

If you are in a non-RN role, then it will not count.

Thanks for that encouragement Suzanne! I feel so sick and depressed when i thought of that of that recent work experience. If for example in a 2-year contract, you should be in the middle of that contract which is 12mos before lodging your application. Im currently working as an ER NURSE. I'm in a 3-year contract so i should have lodged my application earlier which is during my 18m0s? I'm confused really..

It usually takes more than 6 months to get everything done for there, so have taken close to a year. So things should really have been started this past summer to give you a year's time.

More than 6mos?Whohoah! Glad to hear that. At least i still have time to move and get everything done! I'll lodge my application if possible, before april or may. I appreciate that idea, it released me somehow from being upset. Thanks!

6 months is for those that have trained in either Canada or the US and have worked only there.

You trained in the Philippines and have worked in the Middle East for three years by the time that your contract will be done. Get your application into them now, do not wait another three months to do anything.

This is why I am telling you that you need to get started now with everything and do not wait. Remember that you have trained in another country as well, not where you are currently working.

Best of luck to you.
