Questions about SS#, Interim Permit, IELTS, etc!


Hi. Do I need to have SS number in california before I can apply for INTERIM PERMIT? and um, if i'm applying for interim permit, do I have to send my IELTS result together with my NCLEX application? I am in the Philippines now. Pls pls pls I need help. Somebody who knows please reply! Thank you

Since you are asking about SSN, I am assuming that you are foreign grad. As a Foreign Grad you do not qualify for for an IP, since you do not have a SSN.

You are aware that there is Visa Retrogression and the wait is very long to come to the USA. Therefore no need for IP.

If you are in the Philippines then how do you think you will meet IP requirements? Do you already have a visa allowing you to live/work in the US. If not then getting a IP will be of no use for you as you can not work if using a tourist visa and as mentioned with retrogression you will not be able to adjust your status in the US and stay to work

Also to add any scores like IELTS has to go direct from the governing body where you sat the exam/s You do not send it

You can take the NCLEX-RN in CA, but you wont be issued a license with out a ss#. So therefore you wont qualify for an IP.
