Questions about the exam

May I indulge someone to assist me with 2 questions, is it compulsory for a foreign nurse to become a member of the american state nursing federation once she/he has secured suitable employment in the usa.

And are you sure that a uk nurse has to go to the pearsevue venue in london, and cannot under any circumstances sit this exam online.
I have heard from an american friend whom is a nurse that she knows uk nurses who did this online,or did she hear incorrectly. Many thanks

NCLEX can not be sat online. You have to go to a pearsonvue test center and sit the exam

I haven't heard it is compulasory to become a member of any federation but the state may be unionised and you may have to join that if the hospital has it as a requirement.

These are questions better asked in the International forum

There is no country in this world that will permit a nurse to write the exam at home. That just does not make any sense at all. The someone who knew someone did not take their exam at home. Yes, on a technicality it is done on-line and not a written exam with pencil and paper; but it must be done in an approved Pearson-Vue testing center. No other way to obtain a license in the US without doing that.

I have moved your post to a thread of its own since it is taking a thread off topic and we do not like to see that being done. Then your post gets buried and does not get answered.

Questions like this should be posted under the International Forum since they are not specific to the taking of the exam .
