CA requires that your transcripts from your nursing school be sent to them before they will issue a license to you.

You are not going to be transferring a license, you will continue to hold any licenses that you do have until they expire if you do not pay to renew them.

You are licensed in one state and one territory; CA is going to need verification from both of them that there were no issues with your license.

Ok, I understand about the transcripts from the nursing school, but I am a little confused about that verification of passage where the examination was taken. Coz I am licensed in AZ, but I took my NCLEX exam in Guam. Does that mean I will also have to ask for that "verification of passage" from the Board of Nursing in Guam??

If you did not get licensed in Guam but only physically wrote it there, then Guam has nothing to do with anything. They are interested in the state that you wrote the exam for, not the locale of where it was written.

They are interested in knowing from the original state where you were licensed for, this is what this means. If you do not actually hold a license for Guam, then they have nothing to do with it.

If you did not write it for the BON of Guam, then there is no reason to get anything from them as they will not have any records of you there.

You are quite welcome.
Locale of taking the test has no bearing on anything, only the state that you wrote it for, or the US territory that it was written for.

Best of luck to you.

Question contacting the Board
Can anyone give me an idea on how long do I have to wait till I contact the Board of Nursing regarding the status of my application? I filed and sent in my application for Licensure by Endorsement to the Ca BON last week and until now, I have not received any news or confirmation whether they have received my application or not. Can I call now to follow up on it or is it too soon to do that?

Thanks!

You are looking at approx 4 months for Ca to give eligibility

You are endorsing a license, so you will just have to wait for them to process things. There is no eligibility to wait for since you have already written the exam. The biggest hold up is usually your school getting the transcripts to them.

When one lives in the US, then they usually receive the permanent license in about six weeks; but out of the country and you need to tack on a few weeks.

It normally takes about two weeks from the time that they receive your application until it makes it to a file for you; it is not done the day that they receive it.

And for each notification that they send out, then the equal amount of time in delaying processing of the file. They do not have extra people on staff for this.

---------------------
If you already have a SSN#, you can actually take a drive up to CA BRN office in Sacramento and get a temporary license issued that day to you if you need it right away. AZ is in Nursys so this would be no problem to do and you can do the LiveScan that day if it is not already done.

Hello.

CA Board does require verification of passage of appropriate exam in addition to verification of license. (For international graduates only).
What form do I use for that - I have know idea

If someone has underwent licensure by endorsement recently and nursys.com verification was all CA BoN needs - that would be great!

I have current and active MN license and I have SSN.
