Depending on your hospital, it is usually two weeks off to start, but you also have legal holidays thrown in as days off, so that is you work the holiday, you get an extra day off in return. Some are also combining sick days off into the same pot and call it PTO which means paid time off. It can actually grow to over four weeks or so, again depending on your facility. It won't be the six weeks that most of the European countries get.
Also depending on the shift that you are working, if 8 hours, then you can manage a 10 day vacation every three months or so, an if 12 hours, you can get one week almost anytime that you want, as you can put all of your days together, and then have the others off, without using any vacation time.
