Re: qatar nursing
@ mcruz924: I don't think it's possible to get a working visa without a sponsor. The easiest way is to find a "wasta". A "wasta" is a national who has connections inside the system who can help speed up the process and who can most probably help sponsor you. This is common anywhere in the middle east. However, finding a wasta can be difficult if you don't know anyone from that specific country.
As far as I know, a valid sponsor for the working visa is any legal company in Qatar or in some cases, a Qatari. Visit visas tho can be sponsored by relatives. There's also a visa called "commercial visa". This specific visa is used by many in middle east as it is easier to process compared to a working visa. This is comparable to a business type visa in other countries but in order to get this visa, you would also need a company to sponsor you. If you have a partner in Qatar or even in the Philippines who is going to work in Qatar or is already working there, they can apply for a visa for you. People say that if you are husband-sponsored then it would really be easy for you to find any job there because you are considered a priority. Weird but that's how it is there.
Have you tried applying at a hospital there? Or are you just going to go there and try your luck? If you have the experience, you can try applying at Hamad Hospital. A lot of the staff at Hamad are Filipino and they're really nice

You can also try the EMT path. To do this, take a 6 months course at PGH and then apply at Qatar. The pay rate is 50k up (sorry forgot the exact amount but it should be around 50k-75k PHP). Accommodation is provided so you wouldn't have to worry about that.
