Which program have you accepted and why?

Aspects you're nervous for?

Aspects you're excited for?

Despite that nursing school might change your feelings on particular career options within nursing, which speciality/unit do you think you'd like to work in at this point?

For me...

Laurentian/SLC collab. in Kingston, ON

nervous for...clincals, naturally. afraid of being intimidated by patients and clinical instructors. generally afraid of not being happy in the program.

excited for...clinicals! meeting new people, learning about the human body, bettering myself

i'd want to work in oncology methinks.

tell me about you! im nervous and excited and i want to create a space to vent the pre-nursing gitters!

I have been accepted into the RPN to Bscn program with Macmaster.

I am nervous for three more years of school and trying to balance work, family and school. I work in a hospital pt and pt in LTC right now and am going to have to make some sacrifices and mostlikly leave one :sniff:

I am excited to learn new skills and expand my opportunities and learning (I really do enjoy school)

When I started the RPN program I wanted to work in mat-child. However I got in to pallative and it is my passion:heartbeat

I still want to try mat-child and I think I might end up in oncology too :)

Hey! Thanks for creating this thread... been wanting to do it for a while. Need to release some anxiety somehow!!! So nervous, but excited for this upcoming September! :)

So, here goes nothing:

Which program have you accepted and why?

UWO (University of Western Ontario)! I've been living in London for a few years now and I have a spouse with me here... so I had to apply in the same area. Thank god I got accepted!!!

Aspects you're nervous for?

Lots!! Too many really. I'm mostly nervous about having too much content to study and not enough time, or no social life, lol. I'm also afraid of not doing well, or measuring up to the program or other students... clinicals scare the bejeezus out of me!

Aspects you're excited for?

Going back to school after graduating high school 7 years ago... (I'm 25 years old). I'm super excited because I LOVE school and learning, and after taking a break after graduating, I feel as though I know myself more now and I'm ready to get this over with and become a nurse! :nurse:

Despite that nursing school might change your feelings on particular career options within nursing, which speciality/unit do you think you'd like to work in at this point?

I'm not really sure which area or unit I'd prefer at this point. I'm hoping that along the way in the program, I will learn more about what I like and what kind of environment suits me best.

If I had to pick something, I would have to say something in Geriatrics/gerontology, or Med-Surg. Lately, I've also been thinking about working in a Cardiac unit. :heartbeat

Hello all Nurses to be!

I've chosen Georgian College for the RPN Program because my previous University marks weren't high enough to get back into University, but I'm just happy that I'm able to try something new, and get back to school after being out of it for so long. I'm 27!

Nervous to be a student living student life again, although bars won't be nearly as important as they used to be!

Excited to be working with people and applying new skills

I don't think I can pick where I want to work just yet, I know I'll have to try a few before I decide. Anyone in the Barrie area or in the same program, feel free to PM me or befriend me. All the best to all of you!!!!
