Are they currently accepting applicants for Volunteer position?

You will definitely need an IVT license especially on tertiary level government hospitals. BLS not so much but it's a plus (my hospital conducted it in-house for free as long as your name is on the S.O.)

You may try to visit EAMC-Nursing Training Office for your inquiry. What I know is that, they don't accept application as of the moment because there are current volunteers, there are upcoming batches for the next 4 months. But give it a try.

called them up yesterday to follow up, they said currently there is no nursing position available and they will just call me up if there's a schedule for an exam. A backer would be very helpful in this stage i think.

i'm sure it is. i've been volunteering in EAMC since February and up to now i must say that being a volunteer is not a guarantee that you'll get hired or be given a chance to take the qualifying exam. i had a co-volunteer, batch mate who has taken the exam last march because her backer was kinda "known" in the hospital and mine was an ordinary employee. i didn't get to know if she was hired.
