Pearson Vue registration - Name too long

by felisa

I am about to register with Pearson Vue. I am supposed to enter my legal name exactly as it appears on the official identification I will present at the test center. My problem is that my name is too long. I have three first names and am using my maiden mame as my middle name. It is more than the maximum number of characters allowed for the "name" field so that my name is cut short. Should I proceed with registration? Thanks for your suggestions.

Only use one first name for a start, or use an abbreviation for them if there are any. Depends on what they are.

First question is how do you sign your name on a daily basis when one asks for a signature, or how do you sign something at the bank? What is on your passport?

All five names?

Also, try calling or e-mailing a Pearson-Vue representative and ask.

Hello, I am more than glad to inform you that I know that answer to your question because I was in the same boat when I took the NCLEX.

I also have three first names that did not fit inside the first name box for the PV Registration. What I did was I emailed PV and their reply was, they are after the MAIN first name. Only my first two names fit inside the box. The important thing is that your records at the BON you applied to have your complete three first names because during the test day, the person at the registration counter will verify your names with the Customer Service of PV. And be prepared to be the last registrant because they will finish all the other examinees first before the lady at the counter will call up PV Customer Service. You will be able to test, just make sure that your BON records are complete. I am speaking from experience And I did not have any problems during my test day.

Hope this helps.

My fiance has 3 first names as well.

I guess this is common in PI.

I had her go down to NSO office and get a new birth certificate and have her middle name removed.

Very difficult in filling out US paper work with three first name.

Good Luck

Sorry, but there is no reason whatsoever to have a birth certificate name altered or changed. It is not the correct thing to do as her parents gave her that name.

As stated above, just the first name needs to be used.

Would never, ever tell someone to modify their birth certificate, especially for this reason. Just makes no sense at all.

changing her birth certificate is not really necessary. especially if she used all three names in her school records and other official documents. that means she has to change them all as well.

Parents also never wish to see their child change their birth cerificate. Just not a good thing to do. I am sure that you do not sign a check or legal document with five or six names each time that it is signed either.

Passports usually do not include five or six names as well, they have space limitations also.
