NY lic apllication for nclex

hi people,

i just passed the phil nursing lic exam last dec 06.
i would want to apply for a ny nursing license for nclex asap but i dont know where to start...

where do i get an application form? (online would be much preffered.)
& what wud be the steps & procedures??

pardon my ignorance im just really confused....

many thanx in advance...

Hi and welcome to the site

I suggest a big read in this forum especially the sticky called Primer to working in the US. There is no quick way to apply to NY BON for licensure to be a RN and taking the NCLEX is the last step in that process.For NY you are looking at approx 6-12 months before sitting the exam. You also need to be aware of retrogression and coming from the Philippines you are affected, plus finding a hospital in NY willing to petition you for GC is very low.

there is no need to delete this thread. Everyone finds it hard to navigate this site to start, it certainly has grown over the years, I am sure you will get the hang and good luck in your process

again another spoodefed forum, if you relly want to work abroad like US first you should investigate by searching onine the board of nursing and read it ad understand and if your confuse regarding the aplication, then thts the time you will ask and ask . you should be resourceful

CGFNS CVS> NYSED > NCLEX
Is this correct? Im really confused in the licensing process in NY. I am already at the CGFNS credential verification after that they will forward my application to NYSED and here is the question. Will NYSED forward my application to NCLEX or should I mail or email them for them to forward it? Oh and by the way, can I apply for the limited permit with the CGFNS CVS?

NY should let you know when to pay pearsonvue. Not sure what you mean by limited permit? If looking at interim permit I would say not an option as retrogression in progress and no way to change your status at a later date. You are looking at a few years before working in the US and that is if you are lucky to get a GC

NYSED will only give you a license number to be use in registering for NCLEX. You will be the one to take of your application for NCLEX. When did you start your CVS? It will take time, mine takes 14 months before I got the result. Limited permit is only issued to those people who have come to the US without taking NCLEX.This is issued for you to work while you are waiting for the result of your NCLEX. They will not issue you a limited permit since you are in the Philippines, with the retrogression in effect the best way is for you to secure all requirements first, gain experience and worry about immigration later. By the way have you started your immigration process?(I-140,Visa fee bill,DS-230)

Ah I see, I started my CVS last on the first week of august. Geez, if I only knew that this will be the licensing proces in NY I should have not started it. I have not yet started my immigration process. Thanks for all the information. Can you help me with all the things that I have to do? Thanks again kabayan.
