The correct process for NY licensure:

CVS must be completed thru CGFNS. NY does not accept anything else and cannot use the CES; nor can the CVS be used for any other state.

Average wait time is eight months, it is definitely not fast.

There is no way to apply directly for the NCLEX exam, you must be given an approval by a state BON to be able to sit for the exam.

NY does not issue any type of licensure number untio the person has passed the exam, and met the requirements for licensure.

You should wait until you know that the CVS has been completed before you even consider registering for the exam, as there is a time limit of one year that your funds will be held on account, then they go to Pearson-Vue and they are not returned, nor will they be available to you.

Please be aware that we have not hears of any hospitals doing any petitioning in NY for quite sometime. Add in to that now the fact of the retrogression expected to last for you for sometime, and NY is not the best option for you.

Suggest that you do some reading on this forum before you send anything anywhere. Much has already been written on this very same topic.

What are you looking for? When going through the CVS all you can do is complete application with CGFNS and wait. Once CGFNS have passed it on to the NY BON and you have completed and paid your application you will then get the OK to sit NCLEX. It is a long process and average take is over 7 month before you get ATT

Thanks. CGFNS is already reviewing my credentials. Is it advisable for me to review for nclex? I already enrolled in a review center here in the Phil and it started last week. I think its too soon for me to review.

you can start reviewing now for NCLEX, don't think you need to go to a review center to do it but if you have already paid. We have a great NCLEX forum in the student section where you will get plenty of help and support. It is up to you but looking atleast 8 months before you get ATT approx

hi!
have you applied for their application form (form 1) if yes you have to count for at least 2-3 months before receiving their eligibility.

re: att , base on my case, after i registered at pearson, i've waited for 3 days, still no att so i decided to call NYBON, then after few minutes I received my att. (My friend waited for at least a month or 2, then she decided to call NYBON, then she got her att.)

I doubt they will process your file any faster than others, you will be in a queue and should wait. Not fair on others that are waiting also.
