NVC case completed. Pregnant Now. How to proceed

Hi,

One of my friends has her NVC case completed and is waiting for Consular Interview. She is preganat now and her EDD is 2nd week of November 2007. If she get a chance for an interview schedule after the opening of visas in October 2007 (for fiscal year 2008), how can she proceed with it? What are the steps to add her newborn child to her case? I mean how to file DS-230 etc? Does anyone have similar experience?

Alina Mathew

I too am in the same condition. I just had my interview cancelled in august due to unavailibity of visas and am due in the first week of october. But my agent has reassured me that there is going to be no problem, I can have my medical done, without going through the xrays and immunizations, ie, if and when i get a interview date; and the baby can still travel on my visa. But i guess, I will have to go there after my delivery to stamp on babys passport; not sure of that.

Hi ambitious nurse,

Are you from India? How can we get specific information on this issue?

Regards,

Alina

There is no problem with the new baby being added at the last minute to your visa. The baby did not exist when the initial papers were filed, but they know that pregnancies happen. And there is nothing that you need to do in advance. The agency should have the specifics as to what you need to bring to the interview with the US Embassy, it is not specific as to country, but is the same for all that are waiting for their interview.
