Nursing terms for non-native English-speakers

  1. Can anyone recommend a good textbook, study, workbook on English for non-native nurses and health care workers - that is very useful for English medical terms - and the way nursing is practiced in the US? Something that is for learning. Thank you. Luz

    Chabner's Language of Medicine is an excellent book. It is available on-line at Amazon.

    Here are some lay man's terms:

    pee - urinate
    poop/ do number 2 - move bowel
    throw up - vomit
    legs killing me - pain in the legs

    Will write more as I recall them.
