Nursing in Thailand

by thermos

Fell in love with the people and culture of Thailand, and am exploring the possibility of relocating there from the US. Been searching the web, but have found very little information. How much is the monthly salary/wage for an RN with an ADN, and what kind of special requirements are there for licensure? Is a BSN required? Is the salary so poor there that it would be beneficial to work part-time in the states?

Any help appreciated. =)

After having lived and worked in Thailand, what you want to do is going to be impossible for you to do. You must speak Thai fluently, as well as read and write it to be able to write the Thai nursing exam for licensure. Salary for a nurse is approximately $450 to 500 per month. One 12 hour shift of overtime will give you maybe about $15. Unless you have other experience where you could get a job with an International company, your options are going to be slim. That is going to require at least a Master's in something in most cases. Or the very least, a Bachelor's in something.
