  4. Hmmm. I'm not sure how much I can say. I am US born, and my husband was born in Iran. He has a large (LARGE!!!) family which includes a couple of nurses. When I visited Iran about eight years ago, I did get tours of two hospitals. Of course, looking at a place isn't the same as working in that environment, so I don't know much. I didn't stay long, or observe any patient care.

    I saw a great patient-nurse ratio in critical care. Three nurses, five patients. The unit was the old-school one-room type of deal, and the beds and other equipment were pretty old but serviceable, from what I could tell.

    Nurses appear to all be female, and dressed like nuns.

    And on my trip to Iran, I was treated with awesome hospitality everywhere I went.

  6. I was in Ahvaz. I do not remember the names of the hospitals.
