Nursing in Greece

by chanchi

Hi All

I would like to know if anyone can advise me on working as an English Nurse in Greece. I am hoping to move out to Thessaloniki when I am fluent in Greek.

I cannot find any web sites to give me the info I need. If anyone has any links to the Greek Nursing Boards, jobs etc I would be very grateful.

I currently work as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner / Senior Sister A&E, I have 13yrs experience and am trained at degree level.

I am hoping to work in a Medical Center and utilise my minor injury/illness skills, is this possible. I also would like to know what the pay is like.

If any Greek Nurses happen to read this please give me your advice on what would be most suitable for my skills etc

P.S I am not expecting to make lots of money for luxury things, my family and I are looking for a better quality of life and time together.

Hi

Just an update to my post, I have found the info I needed and if anyone needs the information about nursing in Greece please email me...

In short you need to apply for a license to practice and also have to sit a Greek language/writing exam.

The Greek Nursing association is The Hellenic Nurses' Association

at www.esne.gr

I would still like to hear from Nurses currently working in Greece,

many thanks

Jane

Thanks for sharing the information.

You also have it easier in that you hold a passport from the EU, for others that do not, it is much more difficult to get the proper documents to be able to work there thru immigration.
