Nurse in USA without joining the agency???

by dewdew

Hi everyone,

I'm a nurse from India. I recently passed IELTS and NCLEX exam. I somehow managed to do everything by myself so far because I'm afraid to join the agency after hearing so many stories from my friends (eg: RETROGRESSION). However, now I heard from so many people again that It is impossible to go to USA without joining the agencies. Could somebody tell me: Is there any possiblity getting Visa, if I can get sponsorship letter or job offer directly from the hospital in USA? I've been to USA last year for about 5-6 months. I really love to go back as a Nurse.

Thanks alot.

Moved your thread to the International forum.

Sure, you can get hired directly be an employer, but you are going to still be directly affected by the retrogression. Therefore, you are looking at years and not months before being able to legally work in the US. And because of this, many hospitals are leary in starting any processing at this time.

Take the time to do some reading on the forum here for much information that you do need to be aware of.

You do not need an agency to go to the US, they will not get you there any quicker than going direct hire. The issues you have is for India the processing dates are 2001 and the demand outweighs the amount of visas available. You are not able to go to the US find a petitioner and expect to stay, just isn't going to happen
